Aisling Society

The Aisling Society is an Irish Australian cultural society whose main interests are the study of the history, life and culture of Ireland, and of the effect of our Irish heritage on Australian life.

The Aisling Society has always had close and rewarding ties with numerous Irish and Australian bodies including, the Irish Embassy in Canberra, the Irish Consulate-General in Sydney, the Irish National Association and the Gaelic Club. The Society also sponsors prizes at all the universities in Sydney, for the best work each year in Irish literature and history.

Aisling Society Meetings 2026

Special meetings:
AGM: Wednesday 25 February at 6 pm at the Irish Consulate-General and via Zoom

St Patrick's Day Dinner: Friday 20 March at 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm at Rydges Surry Hills Rooftop Function Room

Mid-Year Lunch: Sunday 19 July at 12.30 noon for 1 pm at the Gaelic Club, Devonshire Street, Sydney

Christmas Party: 24 November at 6 pm for 6.30 pm at Rydges Surry Hills Rooftop Function Room

Regular monthly meetings:
Fourth Wednesday of the month at 6pm at the Consulate-General of Ireland, Level 26, 1 Market Street, Sydney and via Zoom

Dates for 2026: 25 February, 22 April, 27 May, 24 June, 26 August, 23 September, 28 October

NB: YOU NEED TO ARRIVE AT THE CONSULATE NO EARLIER THAN 5.30 PM BUT NO LATER THAN 5.50 PM AS PUBLIC ACCESS TO THE BUILDING AND TO THE LIFTS CEASES BEFORE 6PM.
