The Aisling Society is an Irish Australian cultural society whose main interests are the study of the history, life and culture of Ireland, and of the effect of our Irish heritage on Australian life.

The Aisling Society hosts monthly talks on the fourth Wednesday evening of each month, at the Irish Consulate General in Market Street. Anybody is welcome to attend. Please see our calendar for details of forthcoming talks and other events.
Three major social events are held each year: a St Patrick’s Day Dinner in March, a Mid-Year luncheon in July/August and a Christmas Party. The Society also sponsors prizes at universities in Sydney, for the best work each year in Irish literature and history.
The Society has no political or religious affiliations. Visitors are always welcome. You don’t have to be Irish or Australian. And if you do come, please don’t be shy to introduce yourself.

BECOME A MEMBER
Membership of the Society is open to anyone who is interested in Ireland — her history, culture, economy and destiny and her relationships with Australia — whether or not of Irish descent. A person who wishes to join the Society is required first to attend two meetings as a visitor, and will be then considered for membership by the Council.
The annual subscription is $35.
